Successes

While Rosa Lee was a student at NTID, she discovered that she was interested in theater, so she became involved with different plays and stage productions every year. One of her teachers helped her to realize that what she really loved was connecting with the audience, so she began to develop her skills with storytelling, dancing, and becoming different characters. For the past five years, she has been successfully entertaining audiences all over the country.

Challenges

Rosa Lee’s biggest challenge is to plan her schedule to allow enough time to include all the things that interest her. In addition to her full-time job at MCDHH, she spends a lot of time focusing on improving herself as an entertainer. She is always open to creating new material for her act, and planning and rehearsing a new show usually takes six months. This is a lot of work, but Rosa Lee is very happy with this challenge.

Advice to Horace Mann Students

“Don’t give up or get frustrated. If one thing doesn’t work out, try something new. Follow your dreams. You can all be successful.”
